If you start a retainer within 30 days instead, the full audit fee credits toward it, and on an Embedded retainer we handle the fixes as part of the engagement.

How much does fractional technical leadership, or a fractional CTO, cost?
Advisory retainers, a fractional CTO for your business with your team or vendors doing the building, start at $4,000 per month. Embedded retainers add execution by us and start at $7,000 per month. Both carry a three-month minimum, and larger delivery volumes are quoted custom. Either is a fraction of the cost of a full-time CTO.
Does the audit fee credit toward later work?
Yes, toward any retainer. Start an Advisory or Embedded retainer within 30 days of the audit and the full audit fee credits toward it.
Do you work with businesses directly, or only with agencies?
Both. Agencies and businesses pay the same retainer rates. Work on an agency's client sites is priced differently: audits at a partner rate and projects at 15 percent off. See the For Agencies page for details.
What happens after I reach out?
A discovery call within a few days, where we tell you whether an audit, a retainer, or neither is the right fit. For an audit, you get a one-page scope, pay half to schedule, grant read-only access, and receive the report and ticket set two to three weeks later with a walkthrough call. Retainers start on the first of a month after scoping. Nothing is paid on the discovery call.
